Chap. 372.—An ACT to amend and re-ennct section 17, chapter 42 of
the Cude, relating to the duties of the Sinking Fund Commissioners.

1. Bo it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section seventeen of chapter forty-two of the Code of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re- enacted
so as to read as follows:
§17. The treasurer, the auditor of public accounts, and
second auditor, are hereby appointed commissioners of the
sinking fund, and shall have (a majority acting) the control
and management thereof, and shall annually, or oftener, as
fit occasion may occur, apply whatever sum or sums may be
to the credit of the sinking fund, to the purchase at the mar-
ket price, not, however, to exceed the par value thereof,
bonds issued by authority of the act of assembly, approved
February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two.
2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are
hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
