Chap. 370.—An ACT to incorporate the West Virginia and Ohio
Mineral Railway Company.
Approved March 10, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
A. C. Houston, M. J. Kesler, W..W. Pence, S. Y. Synna, C.F.
Neel, J. D. Logan, M. P. Diddle, S.A. Houston, R. T. McNeer,
and J. H. Leach, and such others as may be constituted with
them, be and they are hereby constituted a body politic and
corporate, by the name and style of the West Virginia and
Ohio Mineral Ruilw: ay Company, and shall have authority to
construct and equip a railway, and to run cars thereon for the
conveyance of passengers and property, from some point on
the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad, or the Richmond and
Alleghany railroad, in the county of Alleghany, to the West
Virginia state line, and to connect and consolidate with the
road of the same name in the state of West Virginia, and
from some paint on the Norfolk and Western railroad, in the
county of Giles, to the West Virginia state line, and to con-
nect and consolidate with the road aforesaid in the state of
West Virginia; and for this purpose the said company is
hereby granted and invested with all and singular the rights,
powers, immunitics, franchises and privileges necessary to
the construction and operation of their road granted by the
general railroad laws of this state and laws with reference to
the condemnation of land: provided said company shall not
occupy Wolf creek nor Clear Fork valleys, in Giles and Bland
counties, nor Rocky gap, in Bland county, in any manner.
2. That thesaid company shall commence the construction
of their road within two years, and complete the same within
six years from the passage of this act.
3. This act sball be in force from its passage.
