Chap. 349.—An ACT to provide a new Rogistration of Voters in the
Town of Danville.
Approved March 8, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
each duly qualified registrar of the town of Danville, shall on
Tuesday, the fitteenth of April, eighteen hundred and eighty-
four, proceed to register the names of all qualified voters
within the wards of said town for which he was appointed,
who according to law, are entitled to registration therein,
entering in addition to the requirements of the general regis-
tration law, in a separate column, the names of streets and
numbers of. residences, or other designation of the residences
of said qualified voters, and he shall complete said reyvistra-
tion within seven days, ‘exclusive of Sunday.
2. In transferring any qualified voter from one ward of
the town to another, the registrar shall enter on the transfer,
a copy of the description of said voter taken from the regis-
tration book, but the registrar revistering any voter on such
transfer, shall follow the requirements of the first section of
this act
3. In making such reyistration, and in all revistrations
thereafter, the said registrar shall in every particular, except
as hereinabove specitied, be guided and controlled by the
general registration laws of the state, and the registration
thus made, shall have the same force, virtue, and effect as
though the same had been made under the general registra-
tion laws of the state, and shall be the registration relied on,
and used in subsequent elections.
4. In all other respects, except as herein provided, the
duties of the registrars for the town of Danville, shall be the
same as prescribed in the general registration laws of the
state.
5. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provis-
ions of this act, are hereby repealed.
6. This act shall be in force trom and after its passage.
