Chap. 336.—An ACT to authorize the county of Fluvanna to raise
money for rebuilding a Bridge across the Rivanna river.
Approved March 7, 1884.
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors ‘of Fluvanna county be, and they
are hereby authorized and empowered, at any meeting at
which a majority of said supervisors shall be present, to issue
bonds in the name of said county, for a sum not excecding in
the aggregate seven thousand dollars, and by themselves or
some agent, or agents, to be appointed by them to make sale
of the same, the proceeds of such sale to be used in rebuild-
ing the bridge across the Rivanna river at Palmyra.
2. That the bonds issued in pursuance of this act shall be
payable within not less than two nor more than ten years
from their date, and shall bear interest which shall be paya-
ble annually, at a rate not excecding six per centum, and
shall not be negotiable at less than par, and be signed by the
president of said board of supervisors, and attested by the
clerk of the county court of Fluvanna, and shall also have
affixed thereto the seal of the said court.
3. That the amounts due and evidenced by said bonds
shall be levied for by the said board of supervisors upon such
subjects of taxation as are or may by law be liable for the
county levy; and the faith of the said county will, on the
proper execution of said bonds, be pledged for the punctual
payment of the principal and intcrest thereon, when the
same shall become due.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
