Chap. 316.—An ACT to repeal the charter of the town of Daniel, in
the county of Campbell.
Approved March 7, 1884.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Daniel, in
the county of Campbell, approved January fourteenth, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-nine, be and the same is hereby
repealed.
2. The officers of the town of Daniel who may have un-
settled accounts, shall settle the same under the supervision
and direction of the board of supervisors of Campbell county,
who are hereby empowered and instructed to cause such set-
tlements duly to be made, and any balances due the said town
in their hands shall be paid to the treasurer of the county of
Campbell. |
3. The treasurer of the county of Campbell shall also
collect all levys, dues or demands payable to the town of
Daniel remaining uncollected at the time of the passave of
this act.
4. Any debts of the said town unpaid and unprovided for,
Shall be paid by any balances turned over to the county
treasurer by the officers of said town as above provided upon
warrants drawn under direction of the board of supervisors
of Campbell county, and by amounts collected by the county
treasurer as above provided; and if there be any deficit in
said amounts, then a sum sufficient to pay such debts shall be
levied upon the property within the present corporate limits
of suid town by the board of supervisors of Campbell county.
and by them applied to pay said debts.
5. Any balance of the funds of the town of Daniel which
may remain, if any, after satisfying its indebtedness, shall be
applied by the board of supervisors of Campbell county in
their best discretion to the improvement ot streets or roads
within the present limits of said town.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
