Chap. 310.—An ACT to amend chapter 73 of the Acts of Assembly
1878-6, entitled an act tu provide fur the working of roads in the
counties of Shenandoah, Page, and Rockingham.
Approved March 7, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section fifteen of xn act entitled an act to provide for the
working of roads in the counties of Shenandoah, Page and
Rockingham, approved February seventeen, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-six, be amend and re-enacted so as to read
as follows: °
15. That the board of commissioners of roads in each
magisterial district, shall annually make an estimate of the
probable amount necessary in connection with the labor pro-
vided for in section nineteen, to pay the expense of changing
and keeping in repair the roads, repairing bridges, paying
allowances to officers provided for in this act, and any other
expenses they may deem likely to arise under the provisions
of this act, and shall before the first day of August in each
year, furnish to the county treasurer, a statement of the tax
assessed against each person in their district, as will aggre-
gate a sum sufficient to meet such expenses, and which tax
such treasurer shall be required to collect as other revenues
are collected, and for which he shall reccive a like compensa-
tion. The funds coming into the hands of the county treas-
urer under the provisions of this act, shall be held by him sub-
ject to the order of the board of commissioners of roads, to
e by them applied in such manner as they deem the best
interests of the roads demand.
