Chap. 270.—An ACT for the protection of fish in the waters of the
commonwealth.
Approved March 4, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
any person who knowingly puts dynamite, or any explosive
poisonous substance into any of the waters of this common-
wealth, and thereby cause the killing or destruction of fish
therein, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on
conviction thereof, fined not less than twenty, nor more than
one hundred dollars, and confined in the county jail not ex-
ceeding sixty days for each offence.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
