Chap. 269.—An ACT providing a Statute of Limitations for Ground
Rent.
Approved March 4, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
every ground rent or rent charge shall be barred and extin-
guished forever when twenty years shall elapse without any
payment or collection on account of said ground rent or rent
charge, and this act shall apply to every case in which there
has been no payment or collection on account of any ground
rent or rent charge for twenty years prior to the passage of
this act, unless within twelve months from this date, a suit
shall be brought to enforce the same.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
