Chap. 217.—An ACT to provide for working of roads in the county of
Bland.
Approved March 3, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of the county of Bland, shall have
the exclusive control of the improvement, opening and repair-
ing of the roads and bridges of the said county, under such
rules, regulations, and methods as the said board of super-
visors may determine, and the cost of said improvements,
openings, and repairs shall be paid out of the county treas-
yry on the warrant of said board of supervisors ; but nothing
in this act shall authorize said board of supervisors, to in-
clude in the levy for these purposes, a tax of more than
twelve cents on the hundred dollars worth of the real and
personal property of said county, or more labor per capita
than two days in any one year, upon the male population of
suid county, who are not now exempt by law, for repairing
roads and bridges, and not more than five days for opening
new roads in any one year.
2. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act, are
hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
