Chap. 207.—An ACT transferring the interest of the state to certain
portions of the Fincastle and Cumberland Gap Turnpike lying within
the county of Tazewell to said county.
Approved March 1, 1884.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the interest of the state of Virginia in that portion of the
Fincastle and Cumberland gap turnpike, which lies in the
county of Tazewell, be and the same is hereby transferred to
the said county.
2. The board of supervisors of said county are authorized
and empowered to take charge of that portion of the Fin-
castle and Cumberland gap turnpike from Tazewell court-
house to the intersection of the new road, near H. St. Clair’s,
or any portion of said turnpike they may deem advisable ;
also the new road from the said intersection to the town of
Graham, and keep the same in good repair, to defray the
expenses of which, they are authorized to erect toll-gates
thereon and collect tolls, subject to the limitations of the
general turnpike law, and said tolls are to be faithfully applied
to keep said roads in good lawful repair.
3. This act shall be liable to repeal, and the transfer and
rant of said turnpike to the said county herein made, shall
e liable to revocation at any time by the general assembly.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
