Chap. 206.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 27 of chapter 13
of the Code of 1873, in relation to the Mileage of the General Assem-
bly.
Approved March 1, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section twenty-seven of chapter thirteen of the Code of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
§ 27. The distance between any points shall be computed
according to the nearest mail route in use at the time such
mileage shall be claimed. The following shall be computed
as the number of miles between the city of Richmond and the
respective courthouses of the following counties: Accomac,
two hundred and sixteen; Albemarle, ninety-seven; Alexan-
dria, one hundred and fifteen; Alleghany, two hundred;
Amelia, forty-seven; Amherst, one hundred and thirty-six ;
Augusta, one hundred and thirty- six; Appomattox, one hun-
dred; Bath, one hundred and ninety-one: Bedford, one hun-
dred and forty- five; Bland, two hundred and soventy- -eight ;
Botetourt, one hundred and sixty-seven; Brunswick, sixty-
nine; Buchanan, three hundred and fifty; Buckingham,
eighty; Campbell, one hundred and twenty; Caroline, torty-
four; Carroll, two hundred and fifty-five; Charles City,
thirty ; Charlotte, one hundred; Chesterfield, fourteen ; Clarke,

York, sixty-three. And the following shall be computed as
the number of miles between the city of Richmond and the
respective courthouses of the following corporations: Nor-
folk, ninety-one; Portsmouth, ninety-one; Petersburg, twenty-
two; and Williamsburg, sixty.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
