Chap. 19.—An ACT allowing J. W. Green Smith, judge of the hus-
tings or corporation court of Staunton, compensation for holding two
ierms of the hustings or corporation court of Winchester, pending the
disability of the judge of said court.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
pon the certificate of the clerk of the corporation court of
he city of Winchester, of the number of days of service
erformed by J. W. Green Smith, judge of the hustings or
orporation court of the city of Staunton, while holding court
or J. H. Sherrard, judge of the hustings or corporation court
t’ the city of Winchester, in February and March, eighteen
undred and eighty-three, the auditor of public accounts is
iereby directed to issue his warrant on the treasurer, paya-
le out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appro-
wriated, in favor of the said J. W. Green Smith, in compensa-
ion for said service, at the same rate of pay and mileage now
Wlowed circuit court judges by law for holding special terms
rithout their circuits. ‘
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
