Chap. 174.—An ACT for tho relief of John T. Woodyard and others of
the county of Fuirfax.
Approved February 25, 1884.
Whereas by reason of serious illness, R. M. Chichester,
deputy treasurer of Fairfax county, was unable to collect a
portion of his tax bills for the years eighteen hundred and
seventy-seven, eighteen hundred seventy. -civht, and eighteen
hundred and seventy- -nine; and whereas said_ bills went into
the hands of John T. Woody ard, deputy treasurer of said
county, too late for collection; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
John T. Woodyard, James Leigh, and R. M. ‘Chichester,
deputy treasurers of the county of ‘Pairfax, be, and they are
hereby authorized to receive and collect thet taxes, levies, and
fee bills where parties have not been returned delinquent,
which accrued and fell due for the years eighteen hundred
and seventy-seven, cighteen hundred and seventy-eight, and
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, and are still unpaid, and
they shall hereby possess the same legal rights in the collee-
tion of the same that they had or possessed at the period
hereinbefore mentioned. Said right shall be continued six
months from the approval of this act: provided that the said
John T. Woodyard, James Leigh, and R. M. Chichester, shall
have twelve months after the passage of this act, to return
further delinquent lists for taxes delinquent in said county
for the years eighteen hundred and seventy-seven, eighteen
hundred and seventy -eight, and cighteen hundred and seventy-
nine.
2. This act shall be in force from its passaye.
