Chap. 169.—An ACT to authorize the treasurer of Orange county to
collect uncollected taxes for the years 1880 and 1881.
Approved February 25, 1884.
Whereas many tax bills and county levies for the years
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, eighteen hundred and
eighty, and eighteen hundred and eichty- one, were not col-
lected by James L. Robinson, late treasurer of Orange county,
on account of the failure of his mind and health:
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the treasurer of Orange county and his deputies, be, and
they are hereby authorized to receive and collect said taxes
and county levies which accrued and fell due in the years
eighteen hundred and eighty and eighteen hundred and
eighty-one, and are still unpaid, and to this end they shall
possess the same legal rights in the collection thereof, as is
given by law for the collection of taxes within a prescribed
time.
2. All collections made under the provisions of this act,
shall be for the benefit of those sureties on the official bond
of the said James L. Robinson, upon whom has devolved the
payment of his indebtedness to the state of Virginia, and to
the county of Orange.
3. This act shall be in force from its passaye.
