Chap. 166.—An ACT to amend section 6 of an act approved March
28, 1879, entitled an act to incorporate the Buckingham railroad com-
pany.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sixth section of the act approved March twenty-eight,
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, entitled an act to incor-
perate the Buckingham railroad company, be, and the same
is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
§ 6. The construction of said railroad shall be commenced
within twelve months and completed in five years from the
first day of January, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, and
said company may build branch roads not to exceed twenty
miles in fongth: provided that if as much as four miles have
been built of the main line of said railroad, before the expira-
tion of said five years, there shall be no forfeiture of the
rights, franchises, and property of said company, in so far as
they purtain and apply to that portion of the said main line
which may have been constructed before the expiration of
said period.
