Chap. 113.—An ACT for the relief of John Owens and others.
Approved February 12, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sheriff of Scott county be, and he is hereby required to
accept within twelve months after the passage of this act,
trom John Owens, James 8S. Cox, Berry Compton, S. L.
Brickey, George Murphy and John Flannary, three per centum
bonds of the state of Virginia, issued under the act of assem-
bly, approved February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and
eivhty-two, entitled an act to ascertain and declare Virginia’s
equitable share of the debt created before and actually exis-
ting at the time of the partition of her territory and resour-
ces, and to provide for the issuance of bonds covering the
same, and the regular and prompt payment of interest
thereon, at their par value, in payment of a judgment ob-
tained on the fifteenth of June, eighteen hundred and eighty,
for six hundred dollars rendered by the county court of Scott
county. in favor of the commonwealth, against them as sure-
ties for Henry Dean and others, in a forfeited recognizance,
and the said bonds shall be paid into the treasury and dis-
posed of as required by law.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
