Chap. 10.—An ACT to provide for the protection of Deer in the county
of Frederick.
Approved January 18, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall not be lawful for any one, for the space of four years,
to run, chase, hunt, or pursue with dogs, any deer within the
county of Frederick.
2. Upon complaint of any person before a justice of the
peace, of the violation of this act, he shall issue a warrant for
the arrest of the person or persons against whom, complaint
is made, and shall cause the same to be apprehended and
brought before him or some other justice of the peace of said
county; and, if found guilty, he shall impose a fine upon each
person so found guilty, of not less than five nor more than
fifty dollars, of which one-half shall be paid to the person
making the complaint, and the other half to the common-
wealth, and judgment shall be rendered by the justice against
the person or persons so found guilty for the cost of the pro-
ceeding.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
