Chap. 116.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors to increase
the compensation of the clerk of the circuit court of Norfolk county.
Approved April 22, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
an act entitled an act to authorize the board of supervisors
of Norfolk county to make an allowance to the clerk of the
circuit court of said county from the treasury thereof, for
services rendered by him (approved April second, eighteen
hundred and seventy-seven), be amended and re-enacted so
a8 to read as follows, namely:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That it shall be lawful for the board of supervisors of Nor-
folk county to cause to be paid from the treasury of said
county, to the clerk of the circuit court of said county, such
an amount as the judge of the said circuit court shall certify,
as a just allowance for the services rendered by said clerk to
the commonwealth and said county: provided, however, that
such allowance shall not exceed the sum of five hundred
dollars for any one year.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
