Chap. 91.—An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to amend and
re-enact section nineteen of chapter seven of the Code of Virginia,
edition of eighteen hundred and sixty, in relation to vacancies in the
office of judge.
Approved February 14, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
ction nineteen of chapter seven of the Code of Virginia,
dition of eighteen hundred and sixty, as amended by an act
approved May third, eighteen hundred and seventy, entitled
an act to amend and re-enact section nineteen of chapter
seven of the Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen hundred
and sixty, in relation to vacancies in the office of judge, be
and the same is hereby repealed.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
CHapPp. 92.—An ACT to authorize the South Atlantic and Ohio Railroad
Company to increase its capital stock and bonds.
Approved February 14, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That for
the purpose of fully completing and equipping the lines
of railroad and branch roads which the South Atlantic and
Ohio railroad company is empowered, by existing legislation,
to construct and operate, the said company is hereby author-
ized, at the discretion of its board of directors, to increase its
capital by the issue of any number of shares of stock neces-
sary for the purpose, in addition to the number now author-
ized: provided that the par value of the entire amount of
the capital stock shall not exceed three millions of dollars;
and it shall also be lawful for the said board of directors, for
the same purpose, to make such issues of bonds of the com-
pany as they may deem advisable, in amount not exceeding
three millions of dollars, and to secure the same by mort-
gage of the whole or any part of its property and fran-
chises.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.

incorporate the Farmville and Staunton river railroad company, ap-
proved March sixth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two.
Approved April 21, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section six
of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Farmville and
Staunton river railroad company, approved Marcb sixth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-two, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows: .
§ 6. The town of Farmville is hereby authorized, in the
manner and under the rules and regulations prescribed by
law, to subscribe for not more than one hundred thousand
dollars of the capital stock of the said company, and any
county or incorporated town along the line of this railroad,
or at any terminal point thereof, or along its branch, lateral
and connecting lines, or at their terminal points, is hereby
authorized in the manner and under the rules and regulations
prescribed by law, to subscribe to the capital stock of said
company. And to thisend it shall be the duty of the county
court of any such county, and of the council of the town of
Farmville, in their discretion, to cause a vote of the qualified
voters to be taken in the manner prescribed by law, and to
issue bonds in such form, running for such lengths of time,
and bearing such rates of interest, not exceeding six per
centum per annum, and in such sums and payable at such
periods and places, as such courts or town councils may de-
termine.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
