Chap. 53.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the Presbyterian
church, in the town of Jonesville in the county of Lee, state of Vir-
ginia, to make sales of certain property belonging to said church,
and for other purposes.
Approved February 3, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful, and full power and authority is hereby con-
terred on James D. Crowell, Ann E. Martin and Henry C. Jos-
lin, trustees of the Presbyterian church in the town of Jones-
ville, Lee county, Virginia, or any two of them, to sell the
lot of land and buildings thereon belonging to said church,
in Jonesville, and to convey the legal title thereto to such
person or persons as they may deem proper, or said church
may direct. And they are further authorized and empow-
ered to invest the sum of money which they may receive as
the price of said house and lot, in the purchase of a new lot
of land Iving near Jonesville, and in erecting new buildings
thereon, and to take and hold said last mentioned lot, not
exceeding three acres, for the use and benefit of said church.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Chap. 53.—An ACT to declare Little river a lawful fence from its
mouth to Alley’s ford in Montgomery county.
Approved April 14, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Little river, a water course lying in part between the coun-
ties of Montgomery and Pulaski, be deemed a lawful fence as
to any stock named in the eighth section of chapter ninety-
seven, Code eighteen hundred and seventy-three, between
the points hereinafter specified, and as to the proprietors and
occupants of the lands on such river—that is to say, from
the mouth of said river to Alley’s ford, in Montgomery
county.
2. This act shall be in force from and after the first day of!
September next.
