Chap. 45.—An ACT to incorporate Cobb’s Island Seaside Company.
Approved January 28, 1852.
_ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Alexander Hunter, Major D. A. Carter, R. Bolling Wilcox,
Honorable H. H. Riddleberger, Colonel T. T. Fauntleroy,
Stephen Hunter, H.S. Menefee, Judge Charles E. Stewart,
General H. H. Hurt, and Oliver Funsteen, of Virginia, and
W. R. Pearson, of the city of Washington, District of Colum-
bia, and such other persons as they may associate with them,
be and they are bereby incorporated by the name and style
of The Cobb’s Island Seaside Company, and by that name
shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, may sue
and be sued, plead and be impleaded, and in all respects shall
be invested with the rights and privileges conferred, and sub-
ject to the restrictions and regulations prescribed for corpo-
rations in the Code of Virginia of eighteen hundred and
seventy-three, so far as the same may be applicable to such
incorporations, and not inconsistent with this act.
2. The purposes and objects for which said company is
organized, are to purchase said Cobb’s island and to repair
and construct buildings for the accommodation of visitors;
and in order more effectually to carry out the objects men-
tioned, the said company shall be empowered to construct
wharves, artificial fish and oyster ponds, or other structures,
as may be necessary to the conduct of their business. The
capital stock of said company shall be divided. into shares of
one thousand dollars each, and shall not be less than fifty
thousand dollars nor more than two hundred thousand dollars.
3. This act sball be in force from its passage.

property known as the Old Mount Zion church, in the county of
Appomattox. .
Approved April 14, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Reverand William F. Robbins, William N. Shearer, and Wil-
liam B. Tinsley, be and they are hereby appointed trustees
to sell and convey, with special warranty, the building and
lot of ground known as Old Mount Zion church and lot,
lying in the county of Appomattox, near Stonewall mills,
and apply the proceeds of such sale as directed by the trus-
tees of Trinity Methodist Episcopal church in said county,
and near the same. ,
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
