Chap. 237.—An ACT to empower the court of Norfolk county to grant
to the owner or owners of marsh lands the right to drain the same.
Approved March 6, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the county
court of Norfolk county is hereby empowered to grant to
any person or persons owning, or having in charge marsh
lands, the right to reclaim for agricultural purposes by means
of dykes or dams across such creeks or coves, notwithstand-
ing such crecks or coves may be considered navigable: pro-
vided that such creeks or coves are wholly within the bounds
of the property owned or controlled by parties making such
application, and that there are no public wharves or landings
within such enclosure: and provided further, that the drain-
age of any adjacent lands be not damaged by such dykes or
dams.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
