Chap. 96.—An ACT to postpone for eighteen months the repeal of the
present fence law in Dinwiddie Courthouse, Cherry Hill, Brooklyn,
Qak Grove and Church Road votiug districts.
Approved April 2, 1879.
Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of an act of assembly
entitled An act requiring the officers conducting the elections
in Dinwiddie county to submit the question of continuing or
repealing the fence laws to the voters of voting districts of
Dinwiddie county, approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen
hundred and seventy-seven, a majority of voters and of free-
holders in the following voting districts, to-wit: Dinwiddie
Courthouse voting district, Cherry Hill voting district, Oak
Grove voting. district, and Brooklyn Church Road voting"dis-
trict, voted in favor of repealing the fence law now in force in
said districts; and whereas, at the June term, eighteen han-
dred and seventy-seven, of the county court of said county, the
judge of said court, pursuant to the provisions of said act of
assembly, approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and
seventy-seven, entered an order declaring that said fence law
be repealed in said voting districts, and that said repeal would
take effect on the twenty-fourth day of May, eighteen hundred
and seventy-nine; and whereas if appears to the general assem-
bly, that it is proper to postpone for a perio of eighteen months
from said May twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and seventy-
nine, the time at which said repeal shall take effect:
1. Beit enacted, That the fence law in force in said voting
districts shall continue in force ontil the twenty-fourth day of
November, eighteen hundred aud eighty, at which said last-
mentioned date said flaw shall be and it is hereby repeated in
the said voting districts.
2. This act shall be in foree from its passage, and all acts
and parts of acts in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
