Chap. 63.—An ACT amending and re-enacting an act entitled an act
regulating insurance Companies.
Approved April 2, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section one of an act entitled an act regulating the reports of
insurance companies, approved February twenty-second, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-eight, be amended and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:
$1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virsinia, That
each and every corporation, whether organized im this or any
other state. dominion or government, be it mutual or joint-stock,
co-operative association or brotherhood, doing or pretending to
do an insurance business in Vireinia, be it life, fire, marine,
accident, live-stock, or any form of insurance, shall cause a
report to be made annually as hereinafter prescribed, to the
auditor of public accounts of this state, upon blanks to be far-
nished by him, showing the actual condittou of said orcaniza
tion on the last day of its fiscal year; said report to be mode
hetween the first of January and the thirty-first of March sue-
ceeding in each year, and shall be ma de under oath by the
president and secretary of such organization; and the auditor
of the state shall cause the aforementioned sworn reports to be
published six times In some newspaper printed in the clty of
Richmond at the expense of the companies raaking such report,
