CHAP. 43.—An ACT for the relief of Charles W. Walker, treasurer
of Giles county.
Approved March 31, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Chas. W. Walker, treasurer of Giles county and his deputy be
anv’ they are hereby authorized and allowed to collect the un-
paid portion of tax tickets and county levies for the years eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-five, eighteen hundred and seventy-
six, and eighteen hundred and seventy-seven, which may be in
their hands, and for the purpose of so doing shall have the
same power of distress and levy as was possessed in the years
for which such taxes and levies were assessed. The powers
hereby given to extend one year from the passage of this act.
2. That the said Chas. W. Walker may return to the auditor
of public accounts on or before the fifteenth day of April,
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, his delinquent lists for the
year eighteen hundred and seventy-seven; and if returned in
proper form and properly certified by that date, he shall have
credit therefor as if the same had been returned in proper time.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
