Chap. 101.—An ACT for the relief of James Mason, of Grayson county.
Approved April 2, 1879.
Whereas it appears to the satisfaction of the general assem-
bly that James Mason, of Grayson county, is sixty-three years
of age; that he has a wife and seven ‘children dependent on
him for subsistence and support; that for seven years le has
been mutilated, having Jost his ri¢ht arm, right eye, and the
two front fingers of his left hand by an explosion while blast-
ing rock out of a public road m said county; that for these
causes he is lacanable of performing mannal labor, and bas been
and is now engaged in the business of a pedler, whereby the
sale of pins, neenies, thread, spool cotton, combs, pictures,
prize-boxcs, and such notions, he is enabled to provide some
of the necessaries os lite for bis family, and, in the judgment
of the generel assemLiy. these circumstances constituting a
juet ground for oxerertien from payment of the Leensc tax im-
posed vy lav upon the business of a pedier:
1. iso it therefore enacted by the general assemoly, That

and ne is hereby sutherized to sell pins, needles, thread, spocl
cotton, combs. pictures, prigze-boxes, and such notions witnout
being taxed as a podier or otherwise.
2, Chis act shall be in force from its passage.
