Chap. 74.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the first section of chap-
ter 180 of the Code of 1873. in relation to the fees of the Secretary
of the Commonwealth and Clerk of the House of Delegates.
Approved February 16, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section one
of chapter one hundred and eighty of the Code of eighteen
hundred and seventy-three be amended and re-enacted so as to
ead as follows:
§ 1. The secretary of the commonwealth may charge for
services rendered in his office the following fees, to be paid by
the person for whom the service is rendered at the time it is
done: For a testimonial, one dollar and fifty cents; for a
copy of any paper—if on one sheet—one dollar, and for each
sheet after the first, seventy-five cents; for issuing a commis-
sion to a commissioner in another state, five dollars; for issu-
ing a commision to each notary public and inspector appointed
by the governor, three dollars; for making out a requisition
for a fugitive from justice demanded of another state, two
dollars; for issuing a warrant for the arrest of a fugitive
demanded by the executive authority of another state, two
dollars. The clerk of the House of Delegates, for a copy of
an act of assembly—if one sheet—one dollar, and for each
sheet after the first, seventy-five cents. These fees shall be
paid by the person for whom the service is rendered at the
time it is done.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
