CHAP. 55.—An ACT to authorize the consolidation of the James
River and Kanawha Company and the Buchanan and Clifton Forge
Railway Company.
Approved February 10, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the James
River and Kanawha company and the Buchanan and Clifton
Forge railway company may consolidate on such terms as a
majority of the stockholders in the two companies respectively
may agree upon; or that it may be lawful for the James River
and Kanawha company to acquire the works, property and
franchises of the Buchanan and Clifton Forge railway com-
pany, either by purchase or by such agreement as may be made
between the said two companies. And in the event that such
acquisition is made, the James River and Kanawha company
shall succeed to all the rights, privileges and franchises of the
Buchanan and Clifton Forge railway company.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
