Chap. 53.—An ACT for the relief of J. F. Tompkins, of Rockbridge
county, from an erroneous assessment of his lands for the years
1874 and 1875.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
J. F. Tompkins shall, notwithstanding anything in the law to
-5 the contrary, have the privilege of appearing before the county
court of Rockbridge county, within three months from the
passage of this act, to show cause, if any he can, in the mode
prescribed by law, against the assessment of his land in said
county, for the years eighteen hundred and seventy-four and
eighteen hundred and seventy-five, in order to have the same
corrected.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
