Chap. 50.—JOINT RESOLUTION authorizing the governor to place
at the disposal of the civil authorities of Lancaster, Middlesex and
Mathews counties arms and ammunition for the enforcement of the
oyster laws.

Approved February 4, 1880.

Resolved (the Senate concurring), That the governor of the
commonwealth be and is hereby authorized to place at the dis-
posal of the civil authorities of the counties of Lancaster, Mid-
dlesex and Mathews sixty stand of rifle muskets, one piece of
rifled artillery, two thousand rounds of ammunition and sixty
rounds of suitable ammunition for artillery, to enable the citi-
zens of said counties more effectually to enforce the laws of
this commonwealth passed for the protection of oysters and
for the general security of the citizens of said counties, and
that the supervisors of said counties be required to execute
bonds conditioned for the preservation and return of said arms.
