Chap. 49.—An ACT to authorize the Potomac and Ohio railroad
company to record mortgayes and deeds of trust under certain
conditions.
Approved February 4, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assemby of Virginia, That
the Potomac and Ohio railroad company, incorporated by the
general assembly of Virginia, be and they are hereby author-
ized to record one or more mortgages or deeds of trust in any
county or city in the state of Virginia, and the tax shall be
assessed and paid upon the amount of bonds or other obliga-
tions secured thereby actually sold or hypothecated during the
year ending on the first day of February of each year, and no
other tax shall be demanded upon such deed of trust or mort-
gage.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
