Chap. 47.—An ACT requiring the attorney-general to institute the
hecessary proceedings in the proper court to ascertain whether the
charter of the Arlington Turnpike Company has been forfeited, and
"4 repeal a joint resolution upon the same subject, approved March
, 1879.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the attorney-general be and he is hereby required to institute
the necessary proceedings in the proper court to ascertain
Whether the charter of the Arlington turnpike company has
been forfeited by reason of the failure of the company to com.
ply with the provisions of its charter and the general law in
relation to turnpikes; and the order entered by the county
court of Alexandria county on the eighth day of October,
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, in relation to such turnpike
shall be no bar to such proceedings.
2. The joint resolution instructing the attorney- -general to
institute the necessary proceedings in the proper court to as-
certain whether the charter of the Arlington turnpike com-
pany, has been forfeited, approved March twentieth, eighteen
hundred and seventy-nine, is hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
