Chap. 294.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the First (colored)
Baptist Church of Manchester, Virginia, to borrow money and give
a deed of trust.
Approved March 9, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Ballard S. Edwards, Joseph H. Carter, James H. Cunningham,
Woodson B. Mann and Thomas H. Hewlet, trustees of the First
(colored) Baptist church of Manchester, Virginia, or their legally
authorized successors, be ‘and they are hereby authorized to
borrow an amount of money, not to exceed four thousand dol-
lars, at a rate of interest not te exceed cight per centum per
annum, to pay off the present indebtedness of their church, and
to enahle them to complete their house of worship now in pro-
cess of construction, and secure the same by deed of trust upon
the property of said church.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
