CHAP. 264.—An ACF for the relief of R. H. Fisher.
Approved March 9, 1880.
Whereas R. H. Fisher, a citizen of Virginia, enlisted in
the service of the Confederate States during the late war, and.
lost a leg in a battle near Petersburg, and now resides and has
resided since the war in this state; and whereas it is further
represented that the said R. H. Fisher received such amputa-
tion of his leg as to make it impossible for him to wear or use
an artificial leg, and such as that he must always go on crutches:
_ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and
directed, upon the application of said R. H. Fisher, accompa-
nied by the certificate of the judge of the hustings court of the
city of Richmond that the applicant is a citizen of the said city
as aforesaid and lost his leg while serving in the army of the
Confederate States, to issue a warrant on the treasury for the
sum of forty dollars as commutation for artificial leg, to be
paid out of any money not otherwise appropriated.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
