CHAP. 202.—An ACT for the relief of the sureties of A. F. Creel.
Approved March 5, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
she auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed
0 accept from George H. Creel, R. A. Thompson and W. A.
Jeffries, sureties of A. F. Creel, late collector of Marshall town-
ship, in Fauquier county, or any of them, the consol bonds of
the state of Virginia, with all unpaid tax-receivable coupons
attached, issued under the act of March, eighteen hundred and
seventy-one, to the amount of the balance now due by them,
computing the interest thereon at the rate of six per centum
per annum, by reason of the default of the said A. F. Creel.
Nothing herein contained shall be construed as releasing said
A. F. Creel from his liability for the difference between. the
amount due by him and the market value of the bonds so re-
ceived: provided, the said bonds shall be paid to the treasurer
within two years after the passage of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
