CHAP. 20.—An ACT to prescribe the manner of summoning jurors in
certain cases where a city, town or county shall be a party.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That in any case
vhich is to be tried by a jury, where a county, city, town or
ther municipal corporation shall be a party, and the trial is’
iad in a court of said county, city, town or other municipal
‘orporation, the judge of the court in which such suit shall be
ending shall, upon the application of cither party, cause to be
summoned twenty freeholders from an adjacent county, city or
own, free from objection, from which panel of twenty jurors
io Summoned a jury shall be selected in the manner directed
»y the twenty-third section of chapter one hundred and fifty-
ight of the Code of Virginia, eighteen hundred and seventy-
ihree. |
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
