of the
Richmond and Mecklenburg railroad com
pany, ap-
proved January 24, 1880
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the second section of the act entitled an act to amend and
enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the Richmond and
Mecklenburg railroad company, approved March twenty-fifth
eighteen hundred and seventy-five, approved April second, eight
teen hundred and seventy-nine, be amended and re-enacted
as to read as follows:
§ 2. Be it further enacted, That whenever five thousand d
lars of the amount aforesaid shall have been subscribed, t
subscribers, their successors and assigns shall be and they «
hereby declared and constituted a body politic and corpor:
under the name and style of The Richmond and Mecklenbu
Railroad Company, and as such shall be entitled to all t
privileges granted, and subject to all the restrictions and reg
lations imposed by the Code of Virginia and the laws amenc
tory thereof, so far as the same are applicable to said corpo!
tion and not inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
