Chap. 171.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act approved January
25, 1879, so as to extend the time in which district school boards are
authorized to use district school funds for the payment of teachers.
Approved March 4, 1880.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembl7 of Virginia, That
section one of an act approved January twenty-fifth, eighteen
hundred and seventy-nine, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That until August
first, eighteen hundred and cighty-two, it shall be lawful for
the school board of any school district, where a sufficient num-
ber of schocl-houses have been built in said district and all
the contingent expenses provided for, to make use of so much
of the district school money for the payment of teachers as in
its judgment the educational interests of the district may seem
to demand.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
