CHAP. 86.—An ACT authorizing the renting of the ecourt-house of
Prince Iidward county for lectures and exhibitions, and for other
purposes.
Approved Jannary 22, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it may be lawful for the judge of the county court of Prince
Edward county to cause the court-room of the court-house of
said county, or any public room in said court-house building,
to be hired or leased for any lecture, exhibition, or other per-
formance at which a charge for admission is made: provided
that the proceeds of said rent or lease shall be paid to the
county treasurer, and may be appropriated to improvement or
repairs of said court-house or public grounds attached thereto.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
CHAP. 86.— JOINT RESOLUTION requiring the fish commissioner
to collect information in regard to the oyster and fish culture, &e.
Approved February 8, 1879.
Resolved (the senate concurring). That the fish commissioner
Shall collect and lay before the general assembly such informa-
tion in regard to the oyster and fish culture, the extent of thte
public domain suited to this culture, the present and possible
fish and oyster product of the Virginia tidal waters, and the
peculiar advantages of our waters for rearing and taking oys-
ters and fish, as may conduce to more intelligent legislation on
these subjects.
