CHAP. 214.—An ACT providing commmntation for D, Vest, of Rock-
bridge county, and Jesse Couch, of Bedford county, and others, one-
legged soldiers who are unable to wear the legs furnished them.
Approved March 8, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts pay out of any moneys not
otherwise appropriated to D. Vest, a one-legged soldier of Rock-
bridge county; and Jesse Couch, a one-legged soldier of Bed:
ford county ; John O’Connell of Augusta county, John Carter
of Albemarle county, and George Manning of Norfolk city, and
William H. Proctor of Prince George county, and James Bar-
rett of Danville, the sum of sixty dollars each upon the return
of the leg (in good condition) furnished by the state, which
they are unable to use; if they have heretofore been provided
with legs.
