Chap. 192.—An ACT to refund to Carroll and Beard, citizens of Rock-
bridge county, Virginia en amount of money taproperly pail as
taxes,

1. Be 16 enacted by the ceeneral assembly, at the auditor
of public accounts be aad he is hereby autherised and direcced
to issue his warrant on the treasury, payable out of any money
not otherwise appropriated, in Cavor of Carroll and Beard for
the sum of forty-two dollars and seventy-eight cents, on account
of land-tax nnproperly and erroncous:y ‘assessed upon a certain
house and lots in the town of Lexington, Virginia, and paid by
the said Carroll and Beard in lawful money, for the years eigh-
teen bundred and sixty-seven, eight :en hundred and sixty-eight,
eighteen hundred and sixty-nine, and eighteen hundred and
seventy.

2. The auditor of public accounts, before issuing his warrant,
as provided in the first section, shall be furnished with the ver-
tificate of the county judge of Rockbridge county, showing that
the said assessment was erroneous, and that the said amount of
forty dollars and seventy-eight cents was erroneously paid by
the said Carroll and Beard.

8. This act shall be in foree from its passage.
