Chap. 110.—An ACT providing for the rebinding books of record.
Approved February 15, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be the
duty of the several county and corporation courts of this com-
monwealth to cause to be bound, in volumes of convenient size,
all books in their respective clerk’s offices, not so bound at the
date of the passage of this act, showing the assessments of
lands since the year eighteen hundred and fifty, and to cause to be
bound in like volumes such books to be hereafter filed in thei
said clerk’s offices at intervals of not more than five years.
2. It shall be the duty of the said county courts, and also o
the corporation and circuit courts of the commonwealth, t
cause to be rebound any books of record in their respectiv
elerk’s offices which may be in need thereof.
3. The court directing any book or books to be bonnd or re
bound under the provision of this act, may allow the same t
be taken from the clerk's office mm which such book or book
may be on file, but shall take all necessary and proper precanu
tions, by requiring’ bonds or otherwise, to insure the preserva
tion and return, and to prevent the mutilation thereof.
4, The cost incurred under this act by any court shall b
certified by such court to the board of supervisors of the county
or to the council of the corporation in whose clerk’s office th
book or books, so bound or rebound, is or are on file, to bi
properly provided for and paid as a charge on such county o
corporation.
