CHAP. 103.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act
to commission officers of cadets of Bethel Academy, of Fauquier
county.
Approved February 15, 1879.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act entitled an act to commission officers of cadets of Bethel
academy, Fauquier county, approved March fourteenth, eighteen
hundred and seventy-eight, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
fhe governor be and is authorized in his discretion, upoa the
recommendation of the faculty, to issue to the officers in charge
or command of the corps or companies of cadets of Bethel
academy, near Warrenton, in Fanquier county, commissions as
brevet officers of engineers in the volunteer service of the com-
monwealth; the said commissions to be for two captains, two
first lientenants and two second lieutenants: provided that the
said commissions shall not entitle the said officers to any pay
or emoluments, or any command or authority, except such as
may be exercised over the cade:s of the said institution by di-
rection of the faculty.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
