Chap. 89.—An ACT enabling the trustees of Moore’s swamp church,
In Surry county, to sell a portion of their church lot to trustees for
the Independent Order of Good Templars.
Approved February 20, 17s.
1, Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the trustees of Moore’s swamp church,
in Surry county, to grant, scll, and convey a portion of the
lot or parcel of land held by them asa church lot, and on
which said church building stands, not exceeding one-fourth
of an acre thereof, to be designated by them, to James G.
Rowell, James N. Lane, and Sidney B. Barham, trustees of
Moore’s swamp lodyve, number one hundred and sixty- -two, of
the independent order of Good Templars, for the purposes of
erecting a lodge building thereon, and tor other uses of said
order; said land to revert to the trustees of said church
when it shall cease to be used by said order of Good Tem-
plars for the space of two years.
2. This act shall be in force from its passave.
