Chap. 72.—An ACT to authorize William T. Ferguson to erect a pier-
head or wharf at Booth’s landing on James river.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
William T. Ferguson of the county of Isle of Wight, be, and
he is hereby authorized to erect a pierhead or wharf at or
near the channel on the south side of James river, at Booth’s
landing above Burwell’s bay in said county, for the purpose
of travel, shipping lumber, produce, or merchandise to and
from the same for himself and others, and may charge for
the same such sum as the county court of Isle of Wight may
allow: provided the said pier or wharf shall not obstruct
navigation on said river: and provided also, that this act
shall be subject to amendment, modification or repeal, at the
pleasure of the general assembly: provided that the said
pierhead or wharf shall be erected subject to the provisions
of section fifty nine, chapter fifty-two of the Code of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-three.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
