Chap. 68.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Bath
county to borrow moncy to defray the cost of erecting a bridge over
the Cowpasture river.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the board of supervisors of Bath county,
at any regular or special meeting, by a vote of a majority of
all members elected to said board, to borrow a sum not ex-
ceeding twenty-five hundred dollars, for the purpose of de-
fraying the cost of erecting a bridge across the Cowpasture
river, in said county, on the road from Warm Spring to Mil-
borough depot, and to issue, negotiate, and to sell the bond
or bonds of said county for such ‘loan, bearing a rate of inter-
est not exceeding eight por centum per annum, payable at
such time as may be determined by the board of supervisors,
not exceeding five years after date. The bonds issued under
this act shall be signed by the chairman of said board, and
be attested by the clerk of the bvard under the seal of the
county or of the county court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
