Chap. 56.—An ACT to amend the charter of the Marion Female
College.

Approved February 6, 1878.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That an act
entitled an act to incorporate the Marion Female College,
approved January twenty-third, eighteen hundred and sev-
enty-four, be amended by adding thereto the following sec-
tion: .

§ 11. The said trustees shall also be authorized to borrow
a sum not exceeding six thousand dollars, at a rate of inter-
est not exceeding eight per centum per annum, which may be
made payable semi-annually, and to execute the bonds of
said college therefor according to law; and to secure the
payment of the same, they may execute and deliver a proper
mortgage or trust deed upon the real estate of the said col-
lege, in accordance with the terms of the contract between
the said trustees and the persons who may loan money upon
said bonds.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
