CHAP. 46.—An ACT to amend the fourth section of an act entitled an
act to incorporate the Bank of Marion, approved FebPuary 11, 1874.
Approved January 29, 1878.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the fourth
section of an act approved February eleven, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-four, entitled an act to incorporate the Bank
of Marion, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as fol-
lows:
§ 4. The board shall regulate the admission of members.
It may receive money on deposit and grant certificates there.
for; and may buy, sell, and negotiate bullion, coin, bank
notes, foreign and domestic bills of exchange, and may also
purchase negotiable notes, payable out of this state, upon the
same terms as banks are authorized to purchase certificates
of debt of this state, or of the United States, or of corpora-
tions, by section six of an act approved March twenty-
fourth, eighteen hundred ‘and seventy-four, entitled an act
in relation to interest on money.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
