Chap. 32.—An ACT to allow the Artillery Greys and Guards of Peters-
burg to take and utilize certain brick belonging to the common-
wealth.

Whereas it is desirable to promote the efficiency of the
volunteer organizations of this commonwealth; and whereas
the commonwealth is possessed of many old brick valueless
to the state, and liable to come to nougbt by exposure to
frost, and so forth: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for each of the companies of the city of Petersburg,
the Artillery Greys and Guards, to take and utilize for their
companics’ benefit, one hundred thousand of said brick by
each company, now on the site, in Richmond, known as the
old armory lot.
2. Upon application to the superintendent of the peniten-
tiary, he shall furnish the captains of each company with
not more than ten able-bodied convicts, for the purpose of
cleaning and loading the railroad cars with brick.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
