Chap. 252.—An ACT to amend section 57, chapter 8, Code of 1878,
with reference to the pay of judges and clerks of election.

Approved March 14, 1878.

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section fifty-seven, of chapter eight, Code of eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:

§57. The judges and clerks of any election held under
this chapter, shall receive as compensation for their services
the sum of one dollar each, and the judge carrying the
returns from his precinct to the county clerk’s office, shall
receive for such services the sum of one dollar; said com-
pensation to be paid out of the county treasury.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
